Native Fish in the Classroom is a classroom-based, environmental stewardship program offered to teachers in grades 6-12 designed to assist students in developing an attitude of stewardship toward Louisiana's natural resources. This is accomplished primarily through raising native Louisiana fish species (Paddlefish and/or Largemouth Bass) in the classroom from eggs to fingerlings (juvenile fish) which the students will then release into a pre-approved riverine habitat towards the end of the school year.
